About This Treatment

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic combines 15% L-ascorbic acid, 1% α-tocopherol, and ferulic acid — the world's most researched antioxidant serum.

Based on Dr. Sheldon Pinnell's patented research at Duke University, optimized at pH 2.5-3.5 for maximum L-ascorbic acid absorption. Ferulic acid doubles UV protection to 8-fold photoprotection.

Defends against UV, pollution, and blue light free radical damage while promoting collagen synthesis.

Mechanism of Action

L-ascorbic acid (pH 2.5-3.5) penetrates stratum corneum in non-ionized form, serves as P4H cofactor for collagen triple helix stabilization. α-tocopherol terminates lipid peroxidation chain reactions. Ferulic acid regenerates oxidized C/E, extending antioxidant duration. Synergistic triple complex suppresses UV-induced thymine dimer formation and p53 overexpression.

Indications

General indication (see detailed description)Wrinkles / fine linesPigmentation / dullness

Expected Results

20-week clinical study: 44.8% enhancement in radiance, 36% reduction in visible wrinkles, 37% increase in firmness. 41% reduction in oxidative damage. Clinically proven to reduce post-laser redness, swelling, and downtime.

Risks & Side Effects

Tingling/stinging (common initially for sensitive skin). Transient redness from low pH. Use within 6 months of opening (oxidation causes brown discoloration and reduced efficacy).
