Editorial and Disclosure Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026
BYO LUX identifies who created and reviewed content, and discloses commercial relationships, so readers can make informed aesthetic-medicine decisions.
1. Content origin
Genuine user submissions may be shown as “Anonymous user” to protect privacy. Aesthetic-medicine themes that BYO LUX Editorial organizes around social-media interest are labeled “Editorial FAQ” or “BYO LUX Editorial”; they are not presented as user submissions.
2. Physician review
A physician name, physician answer, or medical-review label is used only when that physician personally wrote or reviewed the content. Where possible, we show the name, role, review date, and field. General editorial or AI-assisted information is not presented as a diagnosis or personalized treatment instruction.
3. Evidence and updates
For safety, approval status, costs, downtime, and risks, we prioritize verifiable regulators, official labeling, and peer-reviewed literature. Country-specific approvals and health systems are distinguished, and material changes trigger a review of the content and date.
4. Advertising and ranking
Paid placement, free products, and performance-based compensation are disclosed near the relevant content with “Ad” or “Sponsored” and the advertiser. Sponsored placements are separated from organic results and editorial recommendations. Advertising relationships do not justify removing genuine negative feedback.
5. Moderation and corrections
Posts are moderated under objective rules covering personal data, harassment, illegal content, spam, and duplicates. We do not select posts merely because they praise or criticize a treatment. Reported errors are reviewed and corrected or unpublished when necessary.
6. Medical notice
General information and skin analysis on BYO LUX do not replace diagnosis through in-person care or lawful telemedicine. Seek prompt medical care instead of waiting for a forum answer if severe pain, sudden swelling, breathing difficulty, visual changes, or another urgent symptom occurs.
