About This Treatment

Sculptra Aesthetic is a PLLA-based biostimulator that triggers endogenous collagen production while biodegrading naturally over time. FDA-approved for both facial and non-facial use. Excels at improving skin quality and restoring volume loss from aging.

Mechanism of Action

PLLA microparticles trigger macrophage and fibroblast responses post-injection, promoting synthesis of endogenous Type I and III collagen. PLLA itself is completely absorbed within 12-18 months, while induced collagen deposition persists long-term for sustained volumization and skin quality improvement.

Risks & Side Effects

Injection site swelling and firmness for several days is common. Rare palpable nodules may occur. Over-correction should be avoided. Gradual approach recommended.
