About This Treatment

Vitamin B complex preparations (Neurovitan, Pidoxal, Flavitan etc.) contain B1/B2/B6/B12/niacin. Insurance-covered in Japan. Regulate sebum (B2/B6), maintain mucosal/skin health (B2/B3), promote cellular energy metabolism (B1/B2). Prescribed for stomatitis, angular cheilitis, acne, and seborrheic dermatitis. Niacinamide (B3) notably promotes ceramide synthesis and inhibits melanin transfer.

Mechanism of Action

B2: normalizes sebum as FAD/FMN coenzyme in lipid metabolism. B6: supports skin protein synthesis as amino acid metabolism coenzyme. B3 (niacinamide): promotes ceramide/fatty acid synthesis for barrier function, inhibits melanosome transfer for whitening, anti-inflammatory. B12: supports cell division and DNA synthesis.

Indications

AcneLip / mouth contourGeneral indication (see detailed description)

Expected Results

B2/B6: sebum regulation noticeable at 2-4 weeks. Stomatitis improvement in 1-2 weeks. Topical niacinamide (4%): RCT shows significant spot reduction and barrier improvement at 12 weeks. However, oral B complex effects on acne are debated (excess B2/B6 may worsen acne in some cases).
