Masseter / V-line Botox
Masseter BoNT-A for lower-face slimming and clenching control
About This Treatment
Masseter Botox injects BoNT-A into hypertrophic masseters to address square jaw, clenching, bruxism and lower-face width. It is common in Korean and East Asian V-line protocols and is also used in the US and Europe for functional and aesthetic goals.
Mechanism of Action
BoNT-A reduces masseter activity and thickness over weeks. Bony jaw width responds poorly, and patients with laxity may notice more lower-face looseness.
Indications
Expected Results
Lower-face volume reduction is assessed at 4-12 weeks. Repeated treatment can further reduce muscle thickness but may affect chewing strength or reveal laxity.
Clinical Evidence
Risks & Side Effects
Reduced chewing strength, smile asymmetry, hollowing, laxity, bruising and headache may occur. Accurate placement is needed to avoid diffusion to nearby structures.
