About This Treatment

EndoliftX is a minimally invasive 1470 nm diode-laser treatment that passes very fine optical fibers into the subdermal plane to deliver energy to lax tissue, fibrous septa, and focal fat in areas such as the jawline, submentum, cheeks, lower eyelids, and nasolabial folds. It has been especially visible in Europe as a “lunch-time” style laser lift for patients seeking something more structural than HIFU or RF but less invasive than a facelift.

Because a fiber is introduced under local anesthesia, bruising and swelling are more relevant than with noninvasive devices, but the tradeoff is more direct tissue contraction and contour adjustment.

Mechanism of Action

At 1470 nm, laser energy is strongly absorbed by water-rich tissue, creating a selective photothermal effect that contracts fibrous septa, stimulates neocollagenesis, and can micro-mobilize or reduce focal fat. By advancing the fiber along anti-gravity vectors, the treatment targets not only skin but also subdermal support structures.

Expected Results

Small prospective studies report significant reduction in nasolabial-fold and marionette-line depth and area, along with increased dermal density, thickness, and elasticity. Separate reports describe improvement in eyelid laxity and eyebrow position at 6 months. It is typically planned as a single treatment with results maturing over months, with optional touch-up if needed.

Risks & Side Effects

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, warmth, and temporary subdermal firmness or irregularity are relatively common. Less common risks include burns, nerve irritation, infection, asymmetry, or uneven fat reduction. Thin skin and periocular areas require careful anatomical technique.
