Spicule peel uses microscopic needle-like spicules, often derived from sponge structures, to promote epidermal renewal and ingredient delivery. It is trending in K-beauty both in clinics and at home, but irritation and barrier disruption are important concerns.

Needle-like silica structures create temporary micro-irritation in the stratum corneum, supporting turnover and active delivery. Higher intensity is not always better and can worsen inflamed skin.

Glow and texture changes are assessed over days to 2 weeks. Evidence mainly comes from micro-spicule-containing formulations and transdermal delivery studies, with large product variability.

위험 및 부작용
Prickling, redness, dryness, flaking, irritant dermatitis, acne flare and barrier disruption may occur. Use caution with eczema, rosacea, active acne or recently treated skin.
