Topical cysteamine is a non-hydroquinone depigmenting agent for melasma and PIH, used when hydroquinone irritation or long-term cycling is problematic.
Odor and irritation are common, so short-contact use, moisturization and photoprotection are important.
작용 기전
Cysteamine is thought to affect tyrosinase/peroxidase-related pathways, dopaquinone reactions and melanogenesis at multiple steps.

기대 효과
mMASI, photography and colorimetry are assessed over 8-16 weeks. It suits melasma-prone patients managed with topicals and photoprotection.

위험 및 부작용
Irritation, redness, dryness, peeling, odor and contact dermatitis may occur. Sensitive skin may need short-contact alternate-day use.
